We’ve set ambitious targets to reduce Dave & Tim Riviera Maya's carbon footprint year over year while giving back to the local community via varying donations, grants and impact funding.

Resort Initiatives:

• Moon Palace’s commitment to preserving the Riviera Cancún region is truly inspiring; their focus extends beyond carbon footprint reduction, to actual mitigation efforts. This includes a complex waste management program that ensures every piece of trash or waste that’s discarded on-site gets sorted and diverted from landfill. Additionally, the resort has a progressive energy & water saving program, actively prevents erosion & sargassum along the property’s coastline, protects various at-risk species (including sea turtles) and nature reserves, cultivates 20 different kinds of microgreens on-site for Moon Palace kitchens, and utilizes burnt oil from restaurants and buffets to create organic biodiesel that powers varying maintenance vehicles. An electric golf cart fleet shuttles guests throughout the resort with complimentary bicycles also offered as a carbon-free transportation option.

Venue Initiatives:

• In addition to several large-scale prevention strategies, we maintain a number of exciting greening initiatives within our venue, including a single-use plastic-free concert area. Compostable plates, cups, cutlery and napkins are utilized for food & beverages, and all trash in the venue is sorted post-event and diverted from landfill. Water Refill stations are made available in an effort to further reduce the need for traditional plastic water bottles.
